The Manuscript Lab

$1,800.00

This is for writers who already have a manuscript — or something very close to one — and want to turn it into the strongest, clearest version of itself before querying, publishing, or releasing.

This is not sentence-level editing.
This is not proofreading.
This is not surface polish.

This is deep, structural, story-level work.

We look at what your book is doing, what it’s trying to be, and what it actually needs — and then we revise with intention instead of panic.

What We Do Together

Over three months, we’ll:

• Read and diagnose your manuscript (or large sections of it)
• Identify structural issues, pacing problems, and narrative gaps
• Strengthen character arcs and emotional logic
• Clarify theme, focus, and coherence
• Decide what to cut, what to deepen, and what to leave alone
• Build a clear revision plan
• Support you through the revision process
• Prepare your book for querying or next-stage editing
• Shape your query pitch and positioning (if applicable)

This is the stage where books become real.

What This Is Not

This is not:

• Copyediting
• Line editing
• Proofreading
• Grammar correction
• Formatting

I won’t mark up every page.
I won’t rewrite your book for you.
I will help you understand your book deeply enough to revise it well.

Who This Is For

• You have a full or near-full manuscript (roughly 60k–90k words)
• You know something isn’t quite working yet
• You want honest, thoughtful feedback
• You want to revise with clarity instead of confusion
• You’re preparing for querying, submission, or publication

Who This Is Not For

• Writers who want sentence-level editing
• Writers who aren’t ready to revise
• Writers who want reassurance without change
• Writers working on children’s books, poetry, or soft/cozy formats

How It Works

• 3-month container (flexible pacing)
• Regular 1:1 Zoom sessions
• Manuscript review + discussion + revision mapping
• Ongoing guidance as you revise

After payment, you’ll receive:
• A short intake form
• A link to book your sessions
• Clear next steps for sending your manuscript

This mentorship is for adult fiction only.
I don’t work on children’s books, poetry, or soft/cozy projects.
